BELLINGHAM – There were a handful of season bests for Evergreen's track & field squad on Saturday as the Geoducks competed at Western Washington University's Ralph Vernacchia Invitational held at Civic Stadium.
Gabe Murrey-Inskeep continued his steady improvement in the 800 meters, knocking another second off his best with a time of 2:06.14, while Jaz Smith improved in the long jump, finishing with a mark of 6.10 meters (20-0 ¼). On the women's side, Camille Christenson improved to 5.00 meters (16-5) in the long jump.
Christenson also competed in the 100-meter dash, clocking 13.83, and in the triple jump, where she recorded a mark of 10.05 meters (32-11 ¾). In the hammer throw, Ali Mackey threw 31.60 meters (103-8).
Sam Godon competed for the first time this season, clocking 25.86 in the 200 and 55.93 in the 400.
The Geoducks continue their season next weekend at the Ken Shannon Invitational hosted by the University of Washington.
