EOU Makes Evergreen its 12th Straight Victim

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon won its 12th consecutive game on Friday night, defeating the Evergreen Geoducks, 101-55, in Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball action inside Quinn Coliseum.

The Mountaineers (12-2 overall, 6-0 CCC), ranked No. 14 in the most recent NAIA Division II Top 25 national poll, were 16-for-28 from outside the three-point line with nine different players making a three-pointer. Maya Ah You Dias, the reigning conference player of the year, was 3-for-5 from long range on the way to a game-high 20 points, while Jane Nelson was 4-for-6 in scoring 18 points. Ah You Dias was the game's leading rebounder with 11 and led her team to a 53-40 advantage in that category.

Evergreen was 7-for-14 from three-point land in the opening half but just 2-for-11 after that and shot just 28.6 percent overall (18-for-63) in suffering the loss. Alexcis Higginbotham, Angela Sikora and Anna Cook all scored 14 points for the Geoducks, who also got 10 rebounds and four blocked shots from Merrily Jones. 

The Geoducks return to action at 5:30 p.m. (Mountain time) tomorrow against College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.
