Puget Sound came back in the second half to force overtime and The Evergreen State College men's basketball team fell 72-66 Wednesday night in the Costantino Recreation Center.
Evergreen was led by Gloire Biongo, who had 22 points, LaBrandon Price added 15 points and Elijah Fuller recorded 12 points. Desmond Hudson led on the rebounds with six.
Puget Sound was led by Cal Hansen, who had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. CJ Geathers added 19 points and Stellan Roberts added 16 points.
The game was tied 12 times and had 13 lead changes. Evergreen had its biggest lead of nine with 2:20 left in the second half and the Loggers ended the second half on a 9-0 run to tie the game at 62.
In overtime, the game was tied at 66 and the Loggers took the lead by a two from Hansen, after a missed three by Evergreen, Geathers added another two to take the lead. UPS hit a couple of free throws and took the win.
Evergreen shot 40.4 percent from the field to UPS' 37.3. Puget Sound recorded 27 turnovers for the game.
The Geoducks are back in action for an exhibition game at Portland on Friday, Dec 13 at 7 p.m. Evergreen is back at home on Monday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. against Lewis Clark State College.
