Women’s Basketball Concludes Season At Northwest

The Evergreen State College women's basketball team fell to Northwest 78-70 Tuesday night to conclude the 2019-20 season.

The Geoducks were led by Anna Cook, who had 23 points, Trinity Betoney added 21 points and Jerri Maluyo had 11 points and 10 assists for a double-double. Betoney led on the rebounds with six.

Northwest was led by Livi Lindsey, who had 16 points, Grace Meza added 15 points, Maya DuChesne had 13 points and Sam Van Loo recorded 12 points. Van Loo and DuChesne both led on the rebounds with six rebounds.

Evergreen shot 48.4 percent from the floor to the Eagles 47.6 percent. Northwest recorded 16 turnovers and Evergreen had 12 steals.

The Geoducks had their largest lead of 13 in the second quarter, but the Eagles were able to come back and take the lead and had their largest lead of 12 points in the fourth quarter. Evergreen had the lead in the first and second quarters. In the third quarter, Northwest came back and tied the game at 47 and the took the lead with a 3-pointer. Evergreen went into the fourth quarter with a four-point deficit and was only able to come within one point before falling to the Eagles.

The Geoducks concluded their season 6-17 overall and 6-14 in conference play. The Eagles will play two more conference games before the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
