Men’s Soccer Defeats Multnomah 2-1

OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Evergreen men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half to defeat Multnomah Friday afternoon at the Geoduck Pitch 2-1.

The Geoducks got on the board at 67:24 when Brandon Clough passed the ball to Jax Buckley, who hit it into the back of the net. That was Buckley's first goal for the season.

Evergreen scored its last goal of the match at 72:55 by Joe DiCarlo and assist from Andreas Malunat. Malunat crossed the ball to DiCarlo, who was on the right side of the goal and tapped it right in. That was DiCarlo's six goal on the season.

The Lions scored at 79:44 when Dorian Robinson got a pass from Ethan Fuller. That goal and a late run by MU was not enough.

Evergreen recorded seven shots for the match to Multnomah's nine. Colin Hauser was back in the net for Evergreen and recorded four saves.

"Great win for the players," said head coach John Purtteman. "Every player stepped up to do the work for 90 minutes."

The Geoducks are right back in action at home tomorrow against Warner Pacific. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. on the Geoduck Pitch.
