SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Evergreen State College men's soccer team fell to 19th-ranked Oregon Tech 2-0 Tuesday morning in the quarterfinals of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
Oregon Tech, who ranks 19th in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, scored two goals back-to-back within 19 seconds of each other in the first half. Reilly Combs recorded his first goal on the season as Andrew Pasang passed him the ball at 32:10. The second goal came at 32:29 by Anthony Santillan and assist from Brock Rideout.
Evergreen recorded three shots for the match with two on goal.
Joe DiCarlo and
Gavin McLeroy had those shots on goal. The Owls recorded 22 shots for the match with 13 on goal, 14 of those shots came in the first half.
Colin Hauser was back in the net for the Geoducks and recorded 11 saves.
Evergreen ended its season 6-9-2 and said goodbyes to seniors

John Purtteman ended his career at Evergreen 112-115-33 overall and 93-79-27 in conference play. This was the seventh consecutive appearance for the Geoducks at the Championships and out of those seven, Evergreen had only made it to the semifinals twice.
