OLYMPIA, Wash. – Three Geoducks –
Mikey Hernandez (21),
Greyson Lewis (17) and
Caleb Washington (16) – scored in double figures as visiting Oregon Tech defeated Evergreen State, 102-77 on Sunday afternoon.
The Geoducks (1-10, 1-6 CCC) traded baskets with the visiting Owls to begin the contest before a five-point spurt by OIT put them ahead for the remainder of the contest. Despite the loss, Evergreen managed to hit a season-high 10 3-pointers in the contest. The most by a Geoduck squad since they hit 10 against Corban on December 30, 2018.
Oregon Tech (10-5, 7-0 CCC) managed to stretch the lead to double digits later in the half and for the remainder of the contest. The Owls were paced by a 19-point effort from Kaison Fuast, who was nearly perfect from the field as he made eight of nine shots. Joining Faust in double figures was Keegan Shivers (15 points), Harrison Steiger (12 points) and Joey Potts (10 points). Shivers also had a game-high 11 rebounds in the win.
Next, Evergreen will travel to Oregon to face Bushnell on Friday, Jan.7 at 7:30 p.m. and Corban on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m.
