Pair of PK Goals Lead Evergreen State Men's Soccer to 5-3 Win Over Bushnell

OLYMPIA, Wash. – A pair of penalty kick goals in the final five minutes by Andreas Malunat and Jesus Flores led host Evergreen State to a 5-3 win over Bushnell on Saturday afternoon.

With the game tied at 3 in the 85th minute, Malunat successfully converted a penalty kick after a foul by the Beacons' defense inside the box to set the stage for the game-winning goal. Nearly three minutes later, Jesus Flores added an insurance tally as Evergreen raised its record to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The loss drops the Beacons to 3-10-1 overall and 1-8 in the CCC.

The Geoducks built an early 3-0 advantage against Bushnell that saw Lucas Alcala, Brandon Clough and Tristan Glaser each score.

A resilient Bushnell squad rallied to tie the game at 3, including a pair of goals by Caleb Burke to set the stage for the late-game heroics by Malunat and Flores.

Next, TESC will travel to Warner Pacific on Friday, Oct. 14 and Multnomah on Saturday, Oct. 15.
