OLYMPIA, Wash.--Visiting Bushnell put the hammer down with a 25-point first quarter to set the tone early during a 81-63 victory over host Evergreen State on Saturday afternoon at the Costantino Recreation Center.
It was the season finale for the Geoducks, who put a wrap on the 2021-22 season with a 9-16 record and a 7-14 mark in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Bushnell heads into the CCC tournament on Tuesday as the #4 seed and a 18-12 ledger, 15-7 in league play.
The Beacons shot a torrid 57 percent in the opening period, breaking open a 14-10 game with a 9-0 run. They took a 25-11 lead into the second period and would hold a double digit margin the rest of the day.
Sha`nece Garrett led the way for Evergreen State with 19 points and three steals.
Trinity Betoney had a solid all-around night with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in a complete-game effort.
Tasha Beckett came off the bench to add 11 points, six rebounds and two steals in just 22 minutes of play.Â
Libby Mathis led the Beacons with 18 points and six boards, converting seven of her nine field goal attempts.Â
