Geoducks Wrap Season with Monster Win over Beacons

OLYMPIA, Wash.--The 2021-22 men's basketball season for Evergreen State saw more downs than ups during a jagged season, but the finishing note couldn't have been much sweeter on Saturday night at the Costantino Recreation Center.
The Geoducks lit up the scoreboard with their most productive offensive night of the season during a 95-73 win over Bushnell. The 95 points was a season best, led by 28 each from LaBrandon Price and Austin Curry.
With the win, the Geoducks snapped an eight-game skid that they won't have to take into the off-season. They finished the year with a 4-22 overall record and a 4-18 mark in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Bushnell ends their season at 9-20 on the year and 7-15 in the CCC. Both teams finished outside of the qualifying group for the eight-team conference tournament that starts on Tuesday.
Bushnell had an early 11-4 lead three and a half minutes into the game, but that would end up being the highlight for the Beacons. Evergreen State would go on to outscore their guests 45-35 in the first half and would build on that lead after intermission. The Geoducks would lead by as many as 30 points with six and a half minutes left in the contest.
TESU drained 14 three-pointers on the night, their second highest total of the season. The Beacons were a stone cold 3-of-28 from behind the arch, including an icy 0-11 in the second half.
Price's big night included eight rebounds and four steals to go with his 28 points. He hit 5-of-9 trey attempts. Curry had seven boards, six assists and three steals to garnish his 28 points. Mitch Wetmore also finished in double figures with 13 points.
Bushnell, who defeated Northwest University on Friday night (66-65), was led tonight by Keishon Dawkins' 22 points.
