Walla Walla, Wash. – Host Whitman scored twice in the final 45 minutes en route to a 2-1 win over the Evergreen State men's soccer team on Monday night.
The Geoducks (1-2) went ahead when
Zack Schmidt scored just before halftime to put the visitors ahead 1-0. Schmidt had the lone two shots for Evergreen State in the loss. Goalkeeper
Colin Hauser made 16 saves in the loss.
The Blues (2-1) had a 29-2 advantage in shots in the win. Whitman managed to tie the contest at 1 when Noa Taylor scored 2:12 into the second half. A stingy Geoducks defense kept Whitman off the scoreboard until Lucas McAllister found the back of the net for the gamewinner in the 73
rd minute. Edwin Romero and Jossue Tobar each had five shots to pace a Whitman attack.
Next, the Geoducks start Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday at 3 p.m. when they host Oregon Tech.
