Hats Off for Malunat; Geoducks Outshine Beacons in 6-1 Victory

EUGENE, Ore. – Evergreen's offense was on fire for their conference matchup against the Bushnell Beacons. Andreas Malunat led the team with three goals in their 6-1 victory.

After securing a comfortable lead in the first, Andreas Malunat dominated the second half of the match with three goals (55', 62', 84') to give the Geoducks (4-5-1, 3-2-1 CCC) a flashy road win.

TESC was in attack mode from the first touch and found the back of the net early as Dakota Seddon was set up by Kolby Juarez and scored in the 6th minute of the match.

The Beacons (4-4-2, 0-4-1 CCC) offense wasted no time erasing the deficit and scored a goal of their own in the 10th minute.

This would be the only goal Brendan Gribek surrendered in match. He finished the contest with seven saves on 15 shots faced.

In the 12th minute of play, Juarez got another opportunity and took the shot his self to put Evergreen back on top.

The scoring frenzy had settled down for a while until Zack Schmidt scored a goal in the 31st minute to give the Geoducks a 3-1 lead at the half.

After another flurry of three goals scored by Malunat, TESC secured the 6-1 win and moved into a tie for sixth place in conference standings with WPU.

The Geoducks prepare for their rematch with Corban today at 4:30 PM. More information available at gogeoducks.com.
