LA GRANDE, Ore. - In a high-stakes contest against Eastern Oregon University, The Evergreen State College Men's Basketball team encountered a formidable opponent, resulting in a hard-fought defeat with a final score of
80 - 105. The Geoducks expressed resilience on the court, but the Mounties' fast scoring ultimately secured the win.
The first half of the game saw a competitive exchange of points, with Evergreen scoring 41 while Eastern Oregon notched 51. Despite a valiant effort from the Geoducks, the Mounties maintained a slight lead heading into the halftime break. In the second half, Evergreen continued to battle, adding 39 points to their tally. However, Eastern Oregon extended their lead with an impressive 54 points, ultimately securing a substantial advantage and the overall victory.
Amidst the challenging night, individual performances on the Evergreen side stood out.
Mubarak Michael made a significant impact, scoring 20 points during his 17 minutes on the court. Michael showcased remarkable accuracy, making 8 out of 11 attempted field goals and sinking 4 out of 6 attempted three-point shots.
Another standout performance came from
Lane Kennedy, who contributed 10 points during his 20 minutes in play. Kennedy displayed precision on the court, making 4 out of 5 attempted field goals and connecting on 2 out of his attempted 3 three-point shots.
