OLYMPIA, Wash. - In a highly contested event against the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors, the Evergreen State College Men's Basketball team faced a tough challenge resulting in a
90 - 67 loss. Despite the outcome, the Geoducks performed admirably, playing an incredibly close game during the first half, where the Warriors secured a narrow lead with 36 points. The Geoducks closely followed with 34 points. The back-and-forth nature of the competition was a source of energy and anxiety for both players and spectators as both teams vied for control of the scoreboard. The second half saw Lewis-Clark State extend their offensive efforts, posting 54 points, while Evergreen scored 33. The Warriors' offensive efficiency created a gap that proved challenging for the Geoducks to overcome.
Despite the team's overall performance, several standout individual efforts showcased the Geoducks' resilience.
Mubarak Michael delivered a solid performance, scoring 12 points during his 27 minutes on the court. Michael showcased his versatility, making 5 out of 12 attempted field goals and sinking 2 out of 5 attempted three-point shots.
Lane Kennedy also contributed significantly, scoring 12 points in his 21 minutes of play. Kennedy's well-rounded performance included making 3 out of 7 attempted field goals, 2 out of 5 attempted three-point shots, and connecting on 4 out of 6 attempted free throws.
While the final score may not have favored Evergreen, the efforts of the team demonstrate the their commitment to giving their best on the court.
