PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Evergreen State College and Multnomah played a scoreless game for over 50 minutes, but the Lions scored three goals the rest of the way to defeat the Geoducks 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Cascade Collegiate Conference win upped the Lions to 4-5-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the CCC. Evergreen ended the game at 1-7-0 on the season, 1-4-0 in the CCC.
Evergreen held a 9-7 advantage in shots during the scoreless first half. Both teams finished the contest with 19 shots, but the Lions placed 11 shots on goal, while the Geoducks put three shots on target.
Jonathan Gaspar opened the scoring for Multnomah at 52:32. The Lions kept the 1-0 lead for 18 minutes before Paul Einero added a penalty kick goal at 70:32. Just over two minutes later, Axcele Biteghe provided the Lions with their third goal on an assist from Tomas Espinoza.
Kainoa Wong (Sr. F) topped Evergreen with four shots.
Kolby Juarez (So., M) took three shots. Biteghe led Multnomah with four total shots, including three shots on goal.

Brendan Gribek (Sr.) earned eight saves for the Geoducks. Johnny Hernandez was credited with three saves for Multnomah while earning the shutout.
The Geoducks are set to play at Geoduck Pitch on Friday, Oct. 11 against Corban University. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. PDT.
