OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The men's soccer team during the 2024 season at The Evergreen State College included several players who earned awards or were among the statistical leaders for the Geoducks. Leading the way was
Emmanuel Nicasio (Sr., M), the team's leading scorer who was chosen First Team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference.
A total of seven Evergreen men's soccer players were selected for the Fall 2024 U.S. Bank Cascade Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference list. Players named Academic All-CCC were
Alan Barragan (Sr., M),
Brandon Clough (Sr., M),
Joshua Coetzee (Sr., D),
Kolby Juarez (So., M),
Walton Nichols (Fr., M),
Connor Scanlon (So., F), and
Sage Scheuerell (Jr., M).
Kolby Juarez (So., M)Â and
Sage Scheuerell (Jr., M) were named Academic All-District in NAIA men's soccer by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Juarez and Scheuerell also were key contributors to the Geoducks during the season.
Nicasio topped the Geoducks in scoring with 16 total points on six goals and four assists. He ranked first on the team with 15 shots on goal and was second with 28 total shots. One of Nicassio's goals was scored with four seconds left in the second half to give Evergreen a 2-1 victory over Northwest University on Sept. 27.
Juarez led Evergreen with 29 total shots while tying for second on the squad with 11 total points. He scored four goals and provided three assists.
Juan Mendez (Jr., M) also contributed 11 points as he scored five goals and registered one assist. Mendez ranked second with 10 shots on target.
Alejandro Gallegos (Jr., D) was third on the roster with 17 total shots.
Goalie
Brendan Gribek (Sr.) made 78 saves during the season. He earned one shutout in an 8-0 win over Walla Walla University on Oct. 20. Gribek started all 16 games and played all 1,440 minutes for the Geoducks.
