ASHLAND, Ore. - In a challenging away game against Southern Oregon University (SOU), the Evergreen State College Men's Basketball team faced a formidable opponent and encountered a setback with a final score of
60 - 99. Despite the loss, standout performances from individual players showcased the Geoducks' resilience and determination on the court.
The first half of the game saw Evergreen scoring 30 points while SOU took the lead with 51. The Raiders demonstrated a strong offensive presence, creating challenges for the Geoducks. In the second half, Evergreen continued to compete, scoring 30 points, but SOU extended their lead with 48 points. The Geoducks showcased determination as they sought to narrow the gap on the scoreboard.
Despite the final score, individual efforts highlighted the Geoducks' commitment to the game.
Tyler Williford played an impressive game, scoring 17 points during his 21 minutes on the court. Williford showcased his scoring accuracy, making 7 out of 10 attempted field goals and connecting on all 3 of his attempted free throws.
Jayden Upshaw also performed admirably, scoring 10 points during his 21 minutes in play. Upshaw's contributions included making 4 out of 7 attempted field goals, sinking 1 out of 3 attempted three-point shots, and converting a free throw.
Despite the challenges faced on the court, the Geoducks' individual performances added character to the game. Under the guidance of Head Coach Cam Swanson, the team will use this experience as an opportunity for growth and development.
