Evergreen Falters in Contest With Multnomah Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. - In a hard-fought battle on the road, the Evergreen State College Men's Basketball team faced a formidable challenge against Multnomah University, ultimately falling short with a final score of 74 - 89. Despite the loss, the Geoducks showcased notable performances, demonstrating skill and determination throughout the game.

The first half of the contest saw Evergreen scoring 31 points, while Multnomah took the lead with 47 points. In the second half, the Geoducks rallied, securing 43 points to Multnomah's 42. Although the team couldn't secure the victory, the game featured standout performances from key players.

Jayden Upshaw led the offensive charge, contributing 22 points during his 35 minutes on the court. Upshaw displayed versatility, making 9 of his 21 attempted field goals and connecting on 4 of his 11 attempted three-point shots.

Deondre Russ also played a crucial role, scoring 13 points in his 26 minutes of play. Russ showcased accuracy, making 4 of his 9 attempted field goals, 2 of his 3 attempted three-point shots, and converting 3 of his 6 attempted free throws.

Elijah McLaughlin delivered a commendable performance, scoring 13 points during his 26 minutes in the game. McLaughlin demonstrated his shooting prowess, making 5 of his 9 attempted field goals and sinking 3 of his 6 attempted three-point shots.

While the outcome may not have favored the Geoducks, the resilience and effort displayed by the team continue to be a source of pride for the Evergreen community.
