OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College women's wrestling team is ranked #15 in the most recent NAIA Women's Wrestling Top 20 Poll for the 2025-26 season released on Nov. 20. Five Geoducks continued to be nationally ranked in their respective weight classes.
Life University (Ga.) remained the #1 team in the NAIA Poll with 193 points. Grand View University (Iowa) was ranked #2 at 172 points. William Penn University (Iowa) followed at #3 with 165 points, while University of Providence (Mont.) from the Cascade Collegiate Conference was #4 at 151 points. Indiana Tech held the #5 ranking with 130 points. Evergreen was #15 with 70 points.
Evergreen and Providence were joined by a third CCC team, Southern Oregon University, in the NAIA Poll. SOU was ranked #11 with 96 points. Westcliff University (Calif.) and Eastern Oregon University, both from the CCC, received votes but were not in the Top 20.
Geoduck wrestlers featured ni the NAIA individual rankings were
Nizhoni Tallman (Sr.) in the 110-pound weight class,
Ellabelle Taylor (Jr.) in the 124-pound weight class,
Erica Grant (Jr.) in the 131-pound weight class, Flor Parker Borrero (Sr.) in the 145-pound weight class, and
Shannon Workinger (Jr.) in the 160-pound weight class.
Tallman was ranked #8 this week in the 110-pound weight class. She returns to the Geoducks after competing at two NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships and earning NAIA All-American in 2024-25. Topping the rankings at 110 was Ariana Rodriguez from Life. Diana Gonzalez of Life was ranked #2, and Avy Perez from William Penn was listed at #3.
At 124 points, Taylor was ranked #6 in the most recent poll. She competed at the NAIA Championships in 2023-24 and 2024-25. Cristelle Rodriguez from Doane University led the weight class at the #1 ranking, while Catharine Campbell of Grand View was #2. Jasmina Immaeva from Missouri Valley College remained at #3.
Grant was ranked #18 for the Geoducks in the 131-pound weight class. She represented Evergreen at the NAIA Championships during the 2023-24 season. The #1 wrestler at 131 points was Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp from Providence. Jumoke Adekoye of Dickinson State University (N.D.) followed at #2, and the #3-ranked wrestler was Sarah Savidge of Life.
Parker Borrero was listed at #3 among the top wrestlers in the 145-point wight class. Parker Borrero has been an All-American twice in two seasons at Evergreen, earning the honor in 2023-24 and 2024-25. She was third at the NAIA Championships in 2024-25. The current rankings at 145 have Esther Kolawole of William Penn at #1, with Jordan Suarez of Wayland Baptist University (Texas) at #2, and Parker Borrero at #3. Corin Lowe of Oklahoma City University owned the #4 ranking, and Elise Twait of Providence was #5.
In the 160-pound weight class, Workinger was ranked #5. She qualified for the USA National Team last season. Latifah McBryde from Life continued to hold the #1 ranking. Allyssa Johnson of Central Methodist University (Missouri) was ranked #2, while Mercy Adekuoroye of Wayland Baptist was #3. Amelia Frounfelter from University of Saint Mary (Kan.) was ranked #4.
The Geoducks will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 29 with a pair of dual meets at the Costantino Recreation Center on the Evergreen campus. Evergreen will take on Big Bend Community College (Wash.) at 1 p.m. PST, and will battle Linfield University (Ore.) at 2 p.m. PST.
