OLYMPIA, Wash. --
Bayleigh Harder (Sr., F/C) tied The Evergreen State College record with eight blocked shots against Bushnell University during a 64-54 loss to the Beacons on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Costantino Recreation Center.
Jenna Glenzel (Sr., G) led the Geoducks with 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Harder earned 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Harder's eight blocks matched the defensive efforts of
Jalyn Sackrider ('25), who set the record versus Bushnell on Feb. 15, 2025.
Habiba Adam (Fr. G) scored 10 points to join Glenzel and Harder in double figures for the Geoducks. Adam was 4 for 6 on field goals.
Haleigh Hanson (So., C) added eight points and four boards.
Jesselle Victo Castillo (Jr., PG) tallied five points and tied Glenzel for the team high with three assists. As a team, the Geoducks blocked nine shots by Bushnell during Saturday's game.
Bushnell upped its record to 6-16 overall and to 4-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball standings. Evergreen fell to 0-17 on the season, 0-14 in the CCC.
Kenzie Pedersen of Bushnell topped the Beacons with 17 points while hitting 7 of 12 field goals. She also hauled down six rebounds. Maddie Gerhart provided 11 points, seven boards, three assists, and three steals. Ayden Krupke tacked on 11 points to go with five rebounds and seven steals.

The Beacons led 36-24 at halftime after outscoring the Geoducks by nine points in the second quarter. Bushnell extended its lead to 57-38 at the end of the fourth quarter. Evergreen achieved a 16-7 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter but was unable reduce the lead to 10 points until just over a minute remained in the game.
Evergreen hit back-to-back three-point shots by Adam and
Amaialyne Cepeda (Sr., G) to take a 7-4 lead with 6:38 to play in the first quarter. The Geoducks were in front 9-5 at the 5:25 mark following a layup by Victo Castillo. Each team added a basket before the Beacons scored four consecutive points for an 11-11 tie.
Sahara Soufi (Jr., G) pushed Evergreen into a 13-11 lead on two free throws with 2:55 to go. The Beacons concluded the quarter with a 7-2 run, ending with a jumper by Krupke with 34 seconds left, for an 18-15 edge.
The Geoducks tied the score 20-20 with 9:12 remaining in the second quarter with a 3-point basket by Harder. Bushnell answered with a 6-0 surge before Evergreen responded with jumpers by Habiba and Harder to cut the margin to 26-24 at the 3:35 mark. Led by four points from Pedersen, Bushnell put together a 10-0 run to end the half. Pederson had 11 points for the Beacons at the break.
Bushnell opened the third quarter with a 16-2 run and owned a 52-26 lead after Gerhart made a layup with 4:16 on the clock. Evergreen cut the margin to 55-36 on a pair of free throws by Glenzel with 0:49 left in the quarter. Each team added two points before the game entered the fourth quarter.
The Geoducks tallied the first four points in the fourth quarter to get as close as 57-42 when Glenzel put through a jumper with 8:50 left. The Beacons led 63-45 with 3:45 left, before Evergreen went on a 9-1 run to close the game. A layup by Hanson completed the run with 1:11 remaining, and neither team scored the rest of the way.
Evergreen shot 40.4% from the field (19 of 47) and connected on 4 of 7 three-pointers (57.1%). Bushnell made 26 of 72 field goals (36.1%), while missing all 10 of its 3-point attempts. Evergreen was 12 of 14 at the free throw line (85.7%) and the Beacons went 12 for 21 on free throws (57.1%).
