OLYMPIA, Wash. –
Miles DeLaRosa (Fr., D) from The Evergreen State College men's soccer team is the Peak Credit Union Athlete of the Week for October 15, 2026. Prior to joining the Geoducks this season, DeLaRosa played soccer at Crescent View West High School in Clovis, California.
DeLaRosa has provided Evergreen with outstanding efforts on defense. The Geoducks have earned shutouts against five opponents and have limited two other opponents to one goal each. DeLaRosa has started all 11 games.
He is skilled at moving to the correct position at the best time to help defend against an attack. DeLaRosa acknowledged that "I'd say my top strength is reading the game."
When DeLaRosa was choosing a college to attend, he appreciated the academic and athletic opportunities at Evergreen.
"I decided to attend Evergreen as a student to further my education and continue developing academically," he commented. "I also came to play soccer because I love the game. I like that we all have a common goal of winning and improving."
At Crescent View West High School, DeLaRosa developed an ability to handle his academic requirements while also excelling in soccer.
"What stands out to me the most (at Crescent View West) was learning how to balance academics with soccer," DeLaRosa explained. "Managing my course load while staying committed to soccer helped me built discipline."
The Geoducks are on the road this weekend to take on Cascade Collegiate Conference opponents Warner Pacific University and Walla Walla University. Evergreen will play at Warner Pacific in Portland, Oregon, on Friday, Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. PDT. The Geoducks will battle the Wolves in Walla Walla, Washington, on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m.
Earlier this season, Evergreen played CCC road games in Montana against Rocky Mountain College and Carroll College. "One of my favorite memories with the team so far was our trip to Montana," DeLaRosa noted.
At Evergreen, DeLaRosa is interested in a wide range of academic paths but hasn't chosen a field of study or a career path. When he has free time, he's enjoys "chilling, music, clothes, and going places," DeLaRosa said.
