REDMOND, Wash. -- Max Baeder (Sr.) of The Evergreen State College finished ninth in the men's division and Alauna Carstens (Sr.) of Evergreen placed 10th in the women's division to lead the Geoducks at the Redmond Harvest Half Marathon on Monday, Sept. 7. A total of 752 athletes completed the race.

Baeder set the Evergreen men's record for a half marathon with his time of 1:07:50.63 (1 hour, 7 minutes, 50.63 seconds). He broke the previous record of 1:09:46 set by Brian Rakestraw in 2010.

Carstens registered a time of 1:21:13.93 (1 hours, 21 minutes, 13.93 seconds. She crossed the finish line roughly two minutes away from her school record of 1:19:38 set at the Redmond Harvest Half Marathon in 2024.

A total of seven Geoducks competed in the race. Evergreen had five runners in the men's division and two runners in the women's division.

Baeder's ninth place finish in the men's division was soon followed by teammate Josh Beam (Sr.), who earned a time of 1:08:25.34 to take 13th place. Jackson Rye (Sr.) reached the finish line at 1:15.24.43 for 37th place, and Osvaldo Calderon (Jr.) was timed at 1:17:30.80. Evan Williams (Sr.) completed the course in 1:23:32.34 for 74th place.

The 10th place result for Carstens led the Geoducks in the women's division. Soleil Bianchi (Jr.) of Evergreen placed 36th with a time of 1:34:50.1.

Evergreen's cross country teams will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the PLU Invitational, hosted by Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with the men's race, followed by the women's race at 11 a.m.
