The Evergreen State College Athletics

 
            Evergreen's recreation center is named after Art Costantino, who retired from The Evergreen State College in 2013 after over 20 years as Vice President for Student Affairs.  His tenure was marked by an incredible record of accomplishment that has transformed the student experience at Evergreen, including the expansion of intercollegiate athletics.  Under his leadership, Evergreen began men's and women's basketball in 1997 and women's volleyball in 2001.
 
 



            The CRC gymnasium is one of the largest spaces on campus with a 2,000 person capacity. The gym hosts our home basketball, wrestling, and volleyball games as well as countless events for both our community of students, staff, and faculty, as well as events for organizations in the community. The gym supports a variety of configurations for basketball events, supporting 3 concurrent courts (or 2 with court lines) and has a back bay with dividers to provide optional separation from the main court.




            The CRC features an incredible bouldering gym with a cushion floor for rope-free climbing in a safe environment. The routes are updated regularly and route setting parties are offered every quarter so you can design your own! A variety of routes for a large range of skill levels offer bouldering challenges for everyone.






            Evergreen's swimming and diving complex is the largest one for 90 miles in any direction with an 11 lane lap pool with lanes that are 25 yards long, and a 12 feet deep diving well. Windows along the edges of space reveal the vivid greenery of the surrounding forest. Both gendered and single-occupancy locker room spaces are available. The pool is one of our most popular rental spaces, and regular open swim hours are available all year.
