Josh Beam enters his first year as a track and field and cross country coach for the Geoducks. Beam will assist in coaching the middle and long distance runners, as well as with recruiting. While serving on the Geoduck staff, Beam will continue to train as a professional athlete under Joel Pearson, as he hopes to make the 2025 and 2027 U.S. Championships and the 2028 Olympic Trials.

Prior to joining the staff, Beam competed for University of Arkansas - Little Rock in cross country and track and field. While with the LR Trojans, Beam won the steeplechase at the OVC Track & Field Championships and had personal bests of 8:27 for 3k, 14:38 for 5k, and 8:55 for the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Beam was also coached by fellow Evergreen coaches Joel Pearson and Katie Burnett at Mountlake Terrace High School. As a student-athlete with the MTHS Hawks, Beam was a captain, school record holder, and State qualifier. He placed second at the Junior Outdoor National T&F Championships in the 2,000-meter steeplechase. Beam graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School in 2020 and from Arkansas - Little Rock in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
