Dominic Martinez joined Evergreen Athletics as the head athletic trainer in March of 2026. He oversees all of Evergreen's activities in sports medicine and athletic training.
"My goal is to create an athlete-centered culture grounded in education, trust, and accountability," Martinez said. "I focus on helping student-athletes understand their health, recognize the resources available to them, and take ownership of their care. Using a holistic approach, I support both performance and long-term well-being."
Martinez is originally Granger, Washington in the Yakima Valley. He earned an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science as well as a master's degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Washington University.
"I bring experience across the high school, collegiate, and private sector settings, which has shaped my adaptable and problem-solving approach to athlete care," Martinez noted.
"What I enjoy most about athletic training is working side by side with athletes to identify solutions that support their goals," Martinez said. "Staying current with modern training and rehabilitation techniques is important to me, as is empowering athletes to be active participants in their recovery and development.
"I take pride in supporting athletes through challenges and celebrating their successes, whether on the field or in the classroom," Martinez added. "Outside of the athletic training room, you’ll usually find me in a coffee shop fueling my caffeine habit. I’m a part-time coffee connoisseur with a full-time passion for athlete care."
