Zeb Hoffman

Zeb Hoffman enters his first year as the Geoducks' Associate Director of Intercollegiate Athletics after spending five years as Evergreen’s Head Track and Field Coach. He will continue his role serving as an assistant track & field coach (throws) with Evergreen, as well as the athletic departments strength and conditioning coach.

During his time as a head coach, Hoffman grew the track and field program from six athletes in 2018 to 22 athletes in 2020 prior to the COVID shutdown. In addition to the 10 school records he has coached, he also coached Desmond Hudson to a conference runner-up finish in the Discus and Corona Parker to a NAIA National Heptathlon Qualifying Mark.

As a Student-Athlete for the Geoducks (2015-2017), Zeb, an Olympia native, won the National Champion in the Men’s Hammer Throw at the 2016 NAIA Outdoor T&F Championships, and the 2016 and 2017 Cascade Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he broke the hammer conference record. The three-time NAIA all-American (Hammer-2016 & 2017, Weight Throw-2016) also qualified for the 2017 USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships in the weight throw, and broke the Men’s (35-39) Age Group American Record in the indoor 56-pound weight throw. Hoffman’s NAIA national championships appearances also include a Runner-Up finish in the Weight Throw and fourth place in the Hammer. Zeb, along with multiple time national-runner up Anthony Johnson, led the Geoducks to a 13th place finish at the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships

More than a student-athlete and coach, Zeb played a vital role in the growth of the Evergreen's athletic department. In the fall of 2022, men’s and women’s wrestling was added as an intercollegiate sport and men’s and women’s cross country was brought back to Evergreen after a 10-year hiatus.

Zeb completed his bachelor’s degree at Evergreen in 2017, with an area of emphasis in coaching, and a Master’s Degree in 2021 from CWU in Athletic Administration. He holds a USATF Level 1 coaching certification as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

He currently lives in Olympia with his wife Katie and son Joe.
