Angela Spoja

Angela Spoja became volleyball head coach at Evergreen in 2013 after a successful eight-year run at Tacoma Community College. A three-time NWAACC Coach of the Year, she led the Titans to a record of 155-60, including undefeated league marks in 2007 and 2010.

In her first year leading the Geoducks, Angela made tremendous strides with the program. After two consecutive winless conference seasons, Evergreen finished just one spot out of the conference tournament after going 8-15 overall and 7-11 in CCC play to finish in seventh place. The following season, the Geoducks tied the program's single-season record with 14 wins.

Angela continues to build the Evergreen program toward consistent success in the tough Cascade Collegiate Conference. In 2018, the Geoducks had their most successful season which led to two players landing in post season awards.  Sierra Wolff was named Freshman of the Year, which is the first time for the Geoducks. She was also named AVCA setter of the West Region.  Natalie Taylor was named to the CCC first team list. Concurrently, the team made it to the Cascade Conference Championships for the first time since all 11 teams have been added to the Conference. The Geoducks also ended the season with the highest in conference win percentage in over 16 years.

A two-year letter winner at Eastern Washington University, Angela is the Director and Head Coach of the U18 team for South Sound Volleyball Club in Tacoma, Wash. Following her collegiate career, she was a member of the American Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and AVP Next from 1997-2009. She coached for a stint at Peninsula High School as an assistant, and for a few clubs in the area before coaching at Tacoma Community College, which led her to Evergreen State.
