Tim Malroy preaches to his players, and they showed that they are hearing the message on Tuesday night in a 112-71 victory over visiting New Hope Christian College at CRC Gymnasium.

The Geoducks combined for an impressive 31 assists on their 45 field goals, with nine of the 11 players who saw action contributing at least one assist.

"Having 31 assists on 45 baskets is really good," Malroy said after the game.

Alix Hernandez led the Geoducks with six assists, which was just part of his solid floor game. The 6-1 junior forward scored 17 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds while playing just 26 minutes.

Hernandez was one of six Evergreen players to hit double figures in the points column. Joining him there were
Kortney Darby with a team-high 19,
David Weatherspoon with 13,
Jordan Dam and
Marquise Doss with 12 apiece and
Donald Terry with 11. Doss and
Jarrick Mitchell both finished with five assists, and Doss contributed four of the team's 11 steals.

The Geoducks were on fire from beyond the three-point line, nailing 14 of their 23 attempts for 61 percent accuracy. For the game they shots 60 percent (45-for-75) from the field while also knocking down all eight of their free throw attempts.

Evergreen took a 59-35 lead after the first period and was never threatened in the second half. New Hope guard Nicholas Dillingham tried to keep his team in the game in the first half with 19 of his game-high 29 points. Joining him in double figures was Carlos McLeod with 18 points and Tray Harbick with 11. McLeod led all players with 12 rebounds.

New Hope shot 47 percent (27-for-58) from the field and had 27 less attempts because of 24 turnovers. Evergreen, meanwhile, had just 11 turnovers.

The Geoducks are back in action at 3 p.m. tomorrow when they host 8-1 Lewis-Clark State.
