PORTLAND, Ore. - The Evergreen State College men's basketball team defeated New Hope Christian College 103-60 in the season opener on Friday at the Rose City Classic on Jim Skagen Court.
Evergreen was led by Gloire Biongo, who had 24 points, Elijah Fuller added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Danny Nelson added 14 points, Mitch Wetmore had 11 points and Raven Frazier had 10 points.
The Geoducks shot 56.5 percent from the field and recorded seven blocks and 13 steals.
New Hope Christian was led by Jaylen Rose, who had 20 points, Robert Knox added 19 points and Malcom Hudson-Haynes recorded 10 points.
New Hope shot 31.7 percent from the floor and had two blocks and 13 steals.
The Geoducks will close out the tournament tomorrow at Noon against Northwest Indian College.
