Come From Behind Win For Men’s Soccer

Douglas College was the first to get on the scoreboard off of a penalty kick, but The Evergreen State College men's soccer team came back to win 3-1 on Friday at the Geoduck Pitch.

After a scoreless first half, all four goals came in the second half, and the first two goals came on penalty kicks.

Douglas College was the first to get on the scoreboard at 54:31 with a penalty kicks by Rafaez Domingos. Evergreen was then fouled in the box and Mitchell Balmer took the penalty kick and tied up the game at 67:18.

Evergreen took the lead after Gavin McLeroy scored at the 68:45 mark. He received the ball from K'Gausa Yodkerepauprai and Quinn Landrud.

Balmer was able to score one more goal for the game at 85:59 after receiving the ball from McLeroy and Tino Pantaleon.  

Hunter Bowman recorded his second win on the season, after he had one save.

Evergreen will be back in action at the Geoduck Pitch at 4 p.m. on Saturday for a scrimmage against Tacoma Community College. The Geoducks will then hit the road to see Whitworth on Friday at 3 p.m. and Whatcom Community College at 4 p.m. on Aug. 29th.
