No. 5 Yotes Defeat Men’s Basketball 67-53

OLYMPIA, Wash. – No. 5 College of Idaho came out in the second half and had its largest lead of 14 to defeat The Evergreen State College men's basketball team 67-53 Saturday night.

The Yotes came out and had their largest lead of 14 with 12:25 left in the game. Evergreen chipped away at that lead and came within six. The Geoducks came within six one more time, but College of Idaho hit its free throws and took the win.

Evergreen was led by Desmond Hudson, who had 14 points, LaBrandon Price added 12 points and Elijah Fuller had 11 points. Price led on the rebounds with seven.

CI was led by Nate Bruneel, who had 17 points and Talon Pinckney added 13 points. Ivory Miles-Williams led on the rebounds with eight.

The Yotes shot 46 percent from the floor to Evergreen's 38.2 percent. CI had nine steals to go with the 11 turnovers for the Geoducks.

College of Idaho opened the game on a 6-0 run that was ended by a two from LaBrandon Price. After back to back threes from Elijah Fuller and Lane Kennedy, Evergreen tied the game at eight. Teams traded baskets back and forth and then College of Idaho had a five-point lead. Evergreen came right back and took the lead with 2:21 left after a three from Price.

With 1:39 left in the first half, Desmond Hudson hit a two, but CI's Nate Bruneel hit a two and went into the half with a 25-24 lead.

Evergreen is back in action on the road at Multnomah on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
