SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The Evergreen State College men's soccer team passed the ball around and saw four goal scorers as the Geoducks defeated Bushnell 7-0 for their second shutout on the season Friday afternoon at the Les Schwab Sports Park.
Maxton Hauser got things started for Evergreen with a goal at 39:22. He was right in the middle of the box and
Graham Hatten had the corner kick perfect to Hauser who hit the ball down the middle of the net. That was Hauser's fourth goal on the season.
Evergreen took its 1-0 lead into the half and came out strong, scoring its second goal of the game at 49:05 by
Joe DiCarlo.
Brandon Clough passed the ball to DiCarlo, who beat the defender and shot the ball to the back of the net. That was DiCarlo's fourth goal on the season, but he picked up his fifth of the season when a missed kick by the defender
Lucas Alcala got DiCarlo the ball and he went passed the defender and hit the ball back into the net at 54:11.
Alcala also scored two goals for the game to go along with the assist. His first goal was at 53:42 after
Jax Buckley passed Alcala the ball he tapped it to his left foot and hit the right side of the net passed the keeper. His second goal came at 60:43 when DiCarlo, who was in the middle of the field passed the ball to Alcala on the left side and he hit the ball to the right side of the net.
Graham Hatten scored the last two goals for the game. The first at 67:22 when
Andreas Malunat took the ball from the defender and passed it to the right side of the net where Hatten was to hit the center of the goal. His final goal and the final goal of the match came at 86:34 when the ball was passed up and missed by both the goalkeeper and a defender and Hatten was right there on the right side of the net and hit the ball into an open net. Those goals were the first for Hatten in his Evergreen collegiate career.
Evergreen recorded 22 shots for the match with 11 on goal. Ten of those shots came in the second half. The Beacon recorded 17 shots for the match with six on goal.
Colin Hauser was back in the net for the Geoducks and recorded six saves and recorded his second shutout for the season. Julian Hernandez was in the net for the Beacon and had four saves.
Evergreen is back in action tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to face Corban in Salem at the CRC Soccer Complex. The Warriors defeated Northwest 5-0 today.
