Cheney, Wash. – The Evergreen State women's basketball team lost to NCAA Division I member Eastern Washington, 101-38.
The Eagles (1-3) outscored the Geoducks by a 26-11 margin in the first quarter en route to the win. Four of the five Eastern Washington starters were scored in double figures with a pair of 17-point efforts from Jaydia Martin and Jordyn Boesel. Plus, Jaleesa Lawrence added 14 off the bench for EWU. Nunia Cunill and Andie Zylak scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Geoducks (0-1) tandem of
Trinity Betoney and
Monique Bungay combined for 21 of the 38 points. Betoney, who led Evergreen State with 11 points, also had five rebounds and three steals with an assist in the loss. Bungay scored eight of her 10 points from the free-throw line.
Next, Evergreen will open CCC play with a contest at Northwest University in Kirkland on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
