ASHLAND, Ore. – The Evergreen State College men's soccer team opened the Cascade Collegiate Conference season on the road and fell to Southern Oregon 4-3 on Friday.
SOU was the first to get on the scoreboard with a couple of goals, first at 4:36 and again by 19:25. Evergreen had an answer at 36:06 by
Joe DiCarlo and assisted from
Lucas Alcala. The Geoducks tied up the match at 39:48 by
Brandon Clough and assisted by
Maxton Hauser and DiCarlo. Clough hit the ball from 10-yards out and hit the bottom right corner.
Evergreen took the lead right after the half at 56:39 by Hauser and assist from
Gavin McLeroy and DiCarlo. DiCarlo centered the shot to the bottom left for Hauser to get the goal. All three goals, were the first goals scored this season by DiCarlo, Clough and Hauser. The Raiders had an answer at 57:27 and then took the win at 73:04 on a penalty kick.
Evergreen recorded 12 shots for the match to SOU's 19.
Colin Hauser was back in the net for the whole game and recorded four saves.
The Geoducks are back in action tomorrow at Oregon Tech. The match will start at 12:00 p.m.
