OLYMPIA, Wash. - OLYMPIA, Wash. – The lone 3-pointer of the contest in the opening minutes by the Geoducks'
Sha'nece Garret put The Evergreen State women's basketball team ahead for the rest of the contest en route to a 63-39 win at the Costantino Recreation Center.
The Geoducks (5-8, 3-6 CCC) were led by a game-high 20-point effort from Garret for her second 20 point effort on the season for the sophomore from Sonora, California. She was joined in double figures by
Trinity Betoney, who added 17 points en route to her first double double of the season to go along with a season-high 15 rebounds. The Henderson, Nevada native also handed out a season-high five assists.
The Yotes (11-7, 5-5 CCC) were paced by a pair of 12 point scorers in Sienna Riggle and Allie Cannon. Plus, Lexi Mitchell had 10 rebounds in the loss for College of Idaho.
Evergreen State outscored College of Idaho in three of the four quarters of the game, including a decisive 18-4 advantage in the 4
th quarter for the win. The defensive efforts of the Geoducks saw them hold the Yotes to 27.1% shooting and just five free throw attempts in the win. The win also snaps a five-game losing streak for the Geoducks against the Yotes.
