Geoducks Men's Basketball Returns to Winning Ways in Victory Over Walla Walla

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Four of five starters scored in double figures as The Evergreen State men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 79-72 win over Walla Walla at the Costantino Recreation Center on Saturday night.

The Geoducks (3-14, 3-10 CCC) picked up their first home win since a 76-71 win over NCAA Division III Pacific Lutheran on Nov. 26, 2019. Austin Curry led TESC with 21 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists in the win. For Curry, it is his second-consecutive double double and sixth of the season.
 
He was joined in double figures by Mitch Wetmore, who added 19 on the strength of five 3-pointers. Plus, LaBrandon Price and Lane Kennedy scored 18 and 16 points, respectively.
 
The Wolves (2-18, 1-12 CCC) picked up a game-high 30 from KiAndre Gaddy, who went 14-for-16 from the field. Joining him in double figures was Caleb Golden (15), Andrew Vaughan (13) and Zayne Browning (10).
 
Evergreen started the game on an 11-4 run that included a pair of 3-pointers by Wetmore and another 3-pointer by Kennedy. The Geoducks stretched the lead to as much as 13 on a pair of occasions en route to the win.
 
Later in the game, Walla Walla cut the deficit to as little as four, 68-64, before a 7-2 spurt by the host Geoducks ended the comeback hopes of the Wolves.
 
Next, Evergreen will travel to Oregon Tech on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Klamath Falls. Earlier this season, on Jan. 2, the Owls defeated the Geoducks, 102-77 in Olympia.
