Tasha Beckett poured in 10 as The Evergreen State women's basketball team dropped a 73-67 decision to host Eastern Oregon on Friday night.
The Geoducks (8-14, 6-12 CCC) held an eight-point halftime lead on the strength of 63.3% shooting from the field before being outscored by 10 in the third quarter as host Eastern Oregon rallied for the victory.
The Mountaineers (18-9, 15-4 CCC) were led by a 21-point effort from Sailor Liefke, who had game-high honors to go along with seven rebounds and four assists in the win. She was joined in double figures by Adyson Harrison and Taylor Stricklin, who added 16 and 11 points, respectively.
TESC raced out to a 27-20 first quarter lead, shooting 70.5% from the field for the early lead. The Geoducks and the Mountaineers were tied six times in the first quarter. Evergreen State closed out the quarter on a 7-0 run with three-different Geoducks scoring for the early advantage. The Mountaineers comeback was sparked by an 11-0 run to start the second half. Liefke hit a jumper with :33 left in the third quarter that put the home team ahead 59-57. EOU would remain in the lead for the rest of the contest.
