Olympia, Wash. –
Sha'nece Garret scored a team-high 20 points to lead four members of the Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team to a 75-61 win over Multnomah on Saturday.
Garret and the Geoducks (7-14, 6-12 CCC) stretched a five-point lead after one quarter of play to double digits for the remainder of the contest as they outscored the visiting Lions by a 28-9 margin in the second quarter. The Geoducks sealed the win with a 24-2 run to start the second quarter. The Geoducks have won three of the last four meetings against Multnomah.
She was joined in double figures by
Monique Bungay (17 pts.),
Bella Jensen (12 pts.) and
Jalyn Sackrider (10 pts.). The front-line tandem of Sackrider and Stewart had 10 and 13 rebounds, respectively. The performance by Sackrider was her second double double of the season and her fifth game with double digit rebounds. For Stewart, it is a season-high in rebounds and the second time that she has had at least 10 boards.
Multnomah (5-19, 5-12 CCC) were led by Elise Graham and Dalila Rincan, who had 21 and 15 points, respectively.
Next, the Geoducks will travel to La Grande, Oregon face Eastern Oregon University on Friday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
