PORTLAND, Ore. - The Evergreen State volleyball team swept host Warner Pacific, 25-6, 25-19, 25-23, in straight sets for its first straight-set win since Oct. 23, 2021 against Walla Walla.

The Geoducks (2-3, 1-0 CCC) controlled the match from the onset with a .284 hitting percentage to -.038 for the host Knights. Evergreen State was paced by a 14-kill effort from Zoe Shaw, who hit .278 to go along with seven digs in the win. Sierra Wolff added 25 assists, five aces and seven digs, plus Rylee Grams provided 26 assists, six digs and four service aces to the winning efforts.

Warner Pacific (0-1, 0-1 CCC) was led by a five-kill effort by Elizabeth Reid in the loss.

A .429 hitting percentage in the opening set paved the way to a 25-6 win as the visitors jumped out to an early 7-1 lead. Evergreen State scored 11 of the final 13 points to win the first set.

The second set went back and forth through the first eight points until a 7-1 run by the visitors put Evergreen ahead for the remainder of the set. The Geoducks managed to hit .290 and register 14 kills en route to the 25-19 win.

The third set was tightly contested until a decisive kill on set and match point by Shaw secured the win for Evergreen. Twice, in the set, the Geoducks overcame a three-point deficit to rally for the 25-23 win.
