KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Evergreen State volleyball team won its third-straight match to begin Cascade Collegiate Conference play with a 17-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 win over host Northwest University on Tuesday evening.
The Geoducks (4-3, 3-0 CCC) were able to post a .219 hitting percentage led by a 13-kill effort from
Lily Stewart to go along with four blocks. Reigning CCC Attacker of the Week
Zoe Shaw had nine kills, three aces and 15 digs in the win for Evergreen State. Reigning CCC Setter of the Week
Sierra Wolff added 30 assists and four blocks, plus
Amaya Carter had a solid all-around match with 11 digs and six assists.Â
The Eagles (6-5, 2-1 CCC), who lost for the first time in three CCC matches, were able to post a .158 hitting percentage after a .371 hitting effort to begin the match. Abi Broussard had 14 kills to lead the attack for Northwest. Morgan Harter and Anna Saelens had 22 and 14 assists, respectively and Kelsey Moore added 18 digs.
The next match for Evergreen State is its home opener on Friday night against Southern Oregon at 7 p.m.
