OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Geoducks host Caroll College at home and the Saints did all of their damage in the first half to hand Evergreen a 3-0 loss.
Carroll out shot the Geoducks 17-8 and dominated the time of possession in the match.
Despite this, Evergreen managed to make a few scoring opportunities for themselves, as
Danean Wurlitzer,
Cayla Muenchow,
Brieanna Dell and
Eden Comstock all recorded shots on goal that forced the Saints' goalkeeper to make quality saves.
The Saints marched in and struck fast as Deanna Lord scored the opening goal of the contest in the 5
th minute. With momentum on their side the pressure ramped up and the second goal came shortly after, scored by Delaney Moczan in the 18
th minute of the match.
The final goal of the first half came after Emily Funseth was fouled inside the box and was given a penalty goal. She capitalized on it to give Carroll a 3-0 lead heading into the break.
The Geoducks showed their grit in the second half and managed to stop the bleeding and hold the Saints scoreless in the second half.
