OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Geoducks caught many by surprise winning the opening set against the Beacons and came close to winning each set but ultimately lose 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23) to Bushnell.
 
Despite the loss, Evergreen played well and showed that at their best they can compete with anyone in the conference.
 
Jadyn Kallenberger led the Geoducks with 15 kills, four blocks and nine digs.
 
In the first set the two teams traded runs until Bushnell jumped out to 23-20 run late and Evergreen responded with an 8-3 run to take the first set and set the tone for the rest of the match.
 
The second set was the opposite of the first as Evergreen held a 23-21 lead late and the Beacons scored four straight points to close out the set and tie the match 1-1.
 
The fourth set had its fair share of lead changes and the two teams battled all the way to the end. With the score tied at 19-19 Bushnell closed out the set with a 6-1 run to win the set and took a 2-1 lead.
 
In the final set the Geoduck held a 17-11 lead over Bushnell but the Beacons fought back and closed out the set and the match with an impressive 9-2 run.
