OLYMPIA, Wash. – Evergreen began their final weekend of the season with a straight set victory over Warner Pacific 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-15). This brings the Geoducks to 2-0 on the season against the Knights.
 
Ashley Walker and Sophia Scroggins were the difference-makers in the match for TESC (4-21, 4-17) as they dominated the net with seven and six blocks, respectively.
 
Scroggins scored the opening point of the match and the Knights (2-26, 2-19) responded with three straight points of their own to bring the match to 3-1 early. Evergreen went on a massive 12-2 run that put them up 13-5 midway through the set. WPU later responded with a 12-2 run of their own to retake the lead 17-15. A series of attack errors broke Warner Pacific's momentum and Evergreen capitalized to take the first set 25-21.
 
The Knights opened the second set with five unanswered points to put the pressure on early. The Geoduck fought back and the two teams exchanged the lead through the middle portion of the set. WPU held a 23-19 lead late in the set and threated to even up the match but the Geoducks stormed back with a 7-1 run to take set two, 26-24.
 
In the final set, Evergreen rode their momentum from the last set and jumped out to an early 8-2 lead. The Knights fought back but the Geoducks held on to their lead and went on to win the set 25-15.
 
Evergreen will conclude their season tomorrow and send off their seniors at Senior Night with their match against Multnomah at 5 PM. More information available at gogeoducks.com
