OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Geoducks hosted Southern Oregon and the Raiders prevailed over Evergreen in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22).
Evergreen opened the match with a 3-0 run before SOU responded with a 3-0 run of their own to tie the match. The set was neck and neck until Southern Oregon pulled away late and closed out the first set with a 4-1 run to win the first set 25-16.
The second set followed the same format as the first and ended with the same score, 25-16.
The tone shifted in the final set of the match. TESC dug deep and showed their resilience as they battled throughout the set. Evergreen held a late 20-19 lead before the Raiders used a 6-2 run to close out the set 25-22 and win the match 3-0.
Marin Collins led the team in kills with eight and
Andee Nelson led TESC in digs with 16.
