Geoducks Overcome Yotes in Idaho

CALDWELL, Ida. - In a thrilling and hard-fought contest, the Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team emerged victorious against the College of Idaho Yotes, sealing an overtime win with a final score of 68 - 62. The Geoducks showcased passion and determination on the court, delivering an outstanding win that left fans on the edge of their seats.

The game unfolded with a closely contested first quarter, where Evergreen scored 11 points, trailing slightly behind the Yotes, who secured 13 points. The second quarter saw the Geoducks gaining momentum, putting up 15 points while holding the Yotes to 14 points. The back-and-forth battle continued into the third quarter, with Evergreen scoring 12 points against the College of Idaho's 16. As the game entered the decisive fourth quarter, the Geoducks displayed composure and offensive skill, scoring 17 points while limiting the Yotes to 12. The closely contested regulation time concluded with both teams deadlocked, setting the stage for an intense overtime period.

In the extra period, Evergreen's resilience shone through as they outscored the Yotes, posting an impressive 13 points while holding their opponents to 7. The Geoducks' exceptional performance in overtime secured their victory with a final score of 68 - 62.

Several standout performances contributed to Evergreen's success. Sydney Vanness delivered a stellar showing, scoring an impressive 24 points during her 37 minutes on the court. Vanness's accuracy was noteworthy, making 12 out of an astonishing 20 attempted field goals. Jenna Glenzel also made significant contributions, scoring 19 points in their 28 minutes on the court. Glenzel's versatility was evident, making 7 out of 13 attempted field goals, 2 out of 5 attempted three-point shots, and 3 out of 7 attempted free throws. Jalyn Sackrider rounded out the impressive trio of performances, making 5 out of 10 attempted field goals and 4 out of 6 free throws for a total of 14 points during her 21 minutes on the court.
