Geoducks Struggle to Overcome LC State

OLYMPIA, Wash. - In a hard-fought battle on their home turf, the Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team faced the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors in a challenging game that concluded with a final score of 53 - 81 in favor of the visitors. Despite the loss, the Geoducks displayed resilience and showcased some impressive performances.

The game unfolded with a closely contested first quarter, where the Warriors secured a slight lead with 19 points, while Evergreen posted 15 points. The Geoducks responded in the second quarter, outscoring LC State with 22 points to the Warriors' 17. The back-and-forth nature of the game was evident as both teams battled for control. However, the third quarter proved to be a challenging period for Evergreen as Lewis-Clark State surged ahead, scoring 26 points, while the Geoducks managed only 6. Despite the deficit, the Geoducks regrouped for the fourth and final quarter, scoring 10 points, but the Warriors added 19 to secure the victory.

Individual performances stood out for Evergreen despite the overall outcome. Sydney Vanness delivered an impressive showing, scoring 20 points during her 25 minutes on the court. Vanness showcased accuracy, making 9 out of 16 attempted field goals and sinking 2 out of 7 attempted three-point shots.

Jenna Glenzel also played a remarkably strong game, contributing 16 points during their 37 minutes on the court. Glenzel's versatility was evident, making 4 out of 15 attempted field goals, 1 out of 9 attempted three-point shots, and connecting on 7 out of 12 attempted free throws.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Jackie Robinson, the Geoducks look ahead to their upcoming game against the Walla Walla University Wolves.
