Geoducks Rock and Roll to Victory Over Wolves

OLYMPIA, Wash. - In a riveting home game, the Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team delivered a commendable performance, securing a well-earned victory against the Walla Walla University Wolves with a final score of 53 - 43. The Geoducks demonstrated resilience and skill on the court, thrilling fans in attendance.

The game kicked off with an evenly matched first quarter, as both teams displayed offensive instinct, each scoring 18 points. The second quarter saw a slight advantage for Evergreen as they outscored Walla Walla University 9 to 8, creating a narrow lead heading into the second half. The third quarter proved to be a turning point in the game, with the Geoducks surging ahead by scoring 13 points while limiting the Wolves to just 4. The defensive effort and offensive execution in the third quarter significantly contributed to Evergreen's success. In the fourth and final quarter, both teams displayed determination, with both the Geoducks and the Wolves scoring 13 points each. However, the lead secured in the earlier quarters proved insurmountable for Walla Walla University.

Many individual standout performances were key to Evergreen's victory. Jalyn Sackrider delivered an impressive showing, scoring 16 points during her 36 minutes on the court. Sackrider's accuracy, making 7 out of 14 attempted field goals and sinking 2 out of 3 attempted free throws, played a crucial role in the Geoducks' offensive output.

Jenna Glenzel showcased an all-around performance, scoring 15 points in their impressive 40 minutes of play. Glenzel's contributions included making 3 out of 8 attempted field goals, 1 out of 2 attempted three-point shots, and a perfect 8 out of 8 from the free-throw line.

Abby Mundy also played a pivotal role, contributing 11 points during her 30 minutes on the court. Mundy's efficiency, making 5 out of 10 attempted field goals and sinking 1 out of 3 attempted three-point shots, added to the Geoducks' offensive firepower.
