Geoducks Face Tough Opponents in Klamath Falls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - In a challenging away game against the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), the Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team faced a tough opponent and suffered a loss with a final score of 56 - 87. Despite the setback, individual performances stood out, showcasing the Geoducks' resilience and determination.

The first quarter set the tone for a competitive night, with the Geoducks scoring 20 points, closely trailing the Owls who posted 22. The closely contested nature of the game kept fans engaged as both teams battled for control on the scoreboard. The second quarter presented a challenge for Evergreen as they scored 8 points while OIT extended their lead with 19 points. The halftime deficit added an extra layer of difficulty for the Geoducks as they looked to mount a comeback. Entering the third quarter, the Geoducks continued to fight, scoring 17 points. However, the Owls showcased a strong offensive performance, scoring 28 points and maintaining their lead. The competitive spirit of the Geoducks persisted despite the challenges. In the fourth and final quarter, Evergreen scored 11 points, but OIT added 18 points to secure the victory.

Jenna Glenzel delivered a standout performance during their 35 minutes on the court, scoring 16 points. Glenzel's contributions included making 5 out of 12 attempted field goals, sinking 2 out of 4 attempted three-point shots, and connecting on 4 out of their 6 attempted free throws.

Sydney Vanness also performed admirably, scoring 13 points during her 27 minutes on the court. Vanness showcased her scoring versatility, making 5 out of 18 attempted field goals, connecting on 1 out of 7 attempted three-point shots, and sinking both of her 2 attempted free throws.

Despite the defeat, the Geoducks' individual performances added a competitive edge to the game.
