Geoducks Surge to Victory at Multnomah University

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team emerged victorious on the road against Multnomah University with a nail-biting final score of 68 - 66. The Geoducks displayed remarkable teamwork and resilience, securing the win with a game-winning basket in the dying seconds of the contest.

The game showcased a competitive battle between the two teams, with Evergreen putting up a strong performance in each quarter. In the first quarter, the Geoducks scored 19 points, narrowly outpacing Multnomah, who secured 17 points. The Lions fought back in the second quarter, scoring 20 points to Evergreen's 17, setting the stage for a closely contested matchup. As the game progressed, Evergreen demonstrated their determination, scoring 14 points in the third quarter while limiting Multnomah to 12 points. The fourth and final quarter saw a thrilling conclusion, with the Geoducks securing 18 points against Multnomah's 17.

The standout performances of Jalyn Sackrider, Sydney Vanness, and Allison Deberry played a crucial role in Evergreen's success. Jalyn Sackrider led the charge, amassing an impressive 24 points during her 30 minutes on the court. Sackrider showcased accuracy, making 10 of her 17 attempted field goals and 4 of her 5 attempted free throws.

Sydney Vanness contributed significantly, scoring 14 points in her 37 minutes of play. Vanness displayed skill and composure, making 6 of her 12 attempted field goals and 2 of her 4 attempted free throws. Vanness secured the game-winning basket with only 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock!

Allison Deberry played a vital role in the team's success, contributing 11 points during her 35 minutes on the court. Deberry showcased versatility, making 4 of her 12 attempted field goals, one attempted three-point shot, and 2 of her 3 attempted free throws.

The Geoducks' triumph on the road against Multnomah University adds to their successful season, and the Evergreen community celebrates their dedication and skill on the basketball court.
