LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Geoducks started the Cascade Collegiate Conference season with a loss at Eastern Oregon University on Friday, Sept. 20. EOU won 6-0, as Milton Hernandez scored a goal and an assist.

Hernandez was involved in the first two goals. He provided an assist to Angel Sandoval on the first goal at 15:00, and then scored an unassisted goal at 28:30.

Four other Mountaineers each tallied one unassisted goal. Two of the goals were late in the first half, as Daniel Kropf hit the net at 42:10 and Jesus Alvarez scored at 44:39. Eastern Oregon tacked on two goals in the final 18 minutes.

The Mountaineers earned a 19-3 advantage in total shots and a 9-2 margin in shots on goal. Kevin Pullara made two saves in recording the shutout. For Evergreen, Brendan Gribek was credited with three saves.

Kainoa Wong (Sr. F) took two shots, including one on target, for the Geoducks. Alan Barragan (Sr., M) provided one shot on goal.

Eastern Oregon upped its record to 2-1, 1-0 in the CCC. The Geoducks fell to 0-4 on the season, 0-1 in the CCC. Evergreen will battle College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MDT / 5:30 p.m. PDT.
